Disneyland or bust!

Grammie and Gramps got Jake and Mia a trip to Disneyland as a joint birthday present.....they are the luckiest kids ever! Sooo, Grammie and I loaded up the kiddos while Brian was away on a LONG business trip and headed South. The trip was filled with lots of fun, smiles, memories.....and of course, whining!!! It was surprisingly crowded since it was the middle of the week and before school got out, and kids this age are just not cut out for waiting in 45 minute lines! Disneyland was great but I equally enjoyed the memories that just made the trip special....staying in a hotel with Grammie, playing in the pool until dark, Jake getting to watch fireworks with Grammie, and a road trip with some of my favorite people on the planet. THANK YOU, Grammie (and Gramps) for the trip.....they kids will remember it forever.

What's better than donuts in the hotel!?

We waited an hour and half to see the princesses.  Oh my.

Pretty sure this was right before he threw the biggest fit ever and I officially became the meanest mom in the happiest place on earth.

 Bliss....
This one does not lack personality, that is for SURE!

 Space Mountain!!

She had to coax him, but Jake did give Belle a hug

 Teacups!

 Waiting in line.....again.

That smile was worth the 45 minute wait!

Riding the HUGE Mickey Mouse ferris wheel

Mia convincing me that she's tall enough to ride....

 Love those smiles!

Poor Jake and Mia waiting in line 3x for a pic with the storm troopers and this was as good as it got!

 Princesses......she was in heaven!

 Rainforest cafe

Pit stop on the road trip!

This is how the they roll......oh, to be a kid these days!

Grandpa's Visit

Grandpa came for a quick visit and we got to have him stay at the new house.....the kids loved having him for a "sleepover" and think it's hysterical that he sleeps on the couch (when there is a perfectly good bed for him to sleep on....but of course he needs to be out where the TV is ;) They enjoy waking him up (not sure how much HE loves it, but it is quite entertaining) and being tickled to the point of tears. Here are a few (lousy, but it's what we've got) pictures from his visit.

Mia, Grandpa and I waiting in the car while Jake rode at the BMX park in the rain
This picture doesn't do it justice.....that bike (and the boy) were CAKED with mud....but what could be more fun for a 5 year old boy?!!  Bikes, mud, rain = good times!

Wouldn't be a visit with Grandpa without a trip to the donut shop.  And look who we ran into....one more reason we love our new place.....we get to randomly run into our favorite people!!
