Happy (early) Halloween!

I couldn't resist making this pre-Halloween post with Jake and Mia in their costumes! Luckily, Julie was here to help with the photo "shoot"....as we all know, getting everyone dressed up and taking pictures is Brian's LEAST favorite thing to do! We're getting them warmed up for trick or treating next week and it should be lots of fun, assuming it doesn't get rained out! And I'm crossing my fingers that nobody eggs Jake as he sports his NY Yankee gear.....Halloween will fall right in the middle of the World Series :)

Fall is here!

Fall is here.....supposedly. In the last week, we've had weather in the 90's, 60's, and rainy days. Though the colors in these photos sure remind me that fall IS coming! We had the lucky opportunity to do a mini fall photoshoot with my good friend, Jenn.....of Jenn Hoffmanny Photography! I'm in love with these new pics of the kids....though I'm kicking myself for not cutting Jake's hair before the pics were taken!!! I ADORE the picture of them together, holding hands.......priceless!

Pumpkin Patch

We went on the Sonshine Preschool pumpkin patch field trip last week....even though it was the middle of October, it was over 90 degrees......not the best pumpkin hunting weather, but we did have fun.
"Yes, Mommy......I do need the wagon to carry this pumpking....it's humungous"

To my surprise, Jake fed the goat.....which was GREAT, because that meant that I didn't have to!

Mia loved watching the animals.....and I think she should wear a jean skirt every day~

Jake, picking out his pumpkin.....

Here is Jake and one of his best buds, Mason. While the rest of the class was sitting nicely and having a snack, they were climbing the hay stacks, which was soon followed by wrestling in the pumpkin patch :) Gotta love boys!!

Their faces were beet red from rough housing, but we got them to sit still for a pic....

Juliana's Bat Mitzvah

This weekend, we had the chance to attend Juliana's Bat Mitzvah celebration! I was Juliana and Joshua's nanny while at St. Mary's and can't believe that she is already 13!! I swear, she's as sweet now as she was as a baby! She and Joshua are SO great with Jake and Mia....only wish they lived closer so that they could babysit for ME! Here are a few pics from the night.....it was tons of fun and Jake is still referring to it as "the dance party".

My handsome boy, all dressed up "like daddy". He was SO excited to wear fancy clothes, shoes and a belt, just like his Daddy! We had to prep him all week and get him excited, as ALL he normally wants to wear these days is his skateboard shirt and Vans.

Mia, a.k.a. "Dancing Queen"

Daddy and Mia dancing together....doesn't get much cuter!

One of the 3 Strawberry Torani drinks that Jake chugged.....he had a death grip on that glass!

These music toys were great.....got us through dinner with no fussing!

Brian was having problems with the flash, so this pic is a little funny, but had to post this one of me and Juliana......time goes by WAY too fast!!

Amazing that the kiddos made it until 10pm without any major meltdowns......though at the end of the night, and after a lot of dancing, Mia did look like she might fall asleep ON the dancefloor. Here she is, taking a breather while we packed up.

Snugglers.....

Mia ADORES her big brother.....and though he'd much rather be tackling her, he was sweet this morning let his lil' sister snuggle right up with him :) Couldn't love them more!!!

Tee Ball!

Jake is on his first Tee Ball team.....it's for ages 3.5 to 5, so he's the youngest on the team, but it's good experience for him. Since he is often tentative with new situations, etc., the first few games were hit and miss with his participation. But we've done 4 games now and he seems to be getting the hang of it and really enjoying it.....but for whatever reason, he REALLY did not want to have his picture taken on picture day, and he does not want to do the warm-ups.....he just stands there with the team, but won't do them. Hopefully he doesn't take after me and hate exercising all together!
Okay, so he wouldn't take the photographer pics, but I did convince him to let ME take them. Here he is with his BELOVED baseball helmet. It's the newest in his helmet collection and a current fave. He does insist on wearing it the ENTIRE game, not just when he bats.....and he's one of those super sweaty kids, so at the end of the game his hair is drenched!

He's indulging me with ONE picture, sans bat!

Team picture......and no, he's not in it.

WATCHING the team get their picture taken....from afar.

The Stance

Mia, playing with the baseball gear......it is a workout keeping this kid
OFF the field for the whole game.....she never stops moving!!!

Fleet Week 2010 - Blue Angels

Our neighbors invited us into San Francisco to see the Blue Angels and we had SO much fun! It had been ages (I mean YEARS!) since we had been into the city, as we don't like driving in there or dealing with the crowds. However, with our handy "tour guides", this visit was a breeze! Aside from the 2.5 hour car ride home :) But it was all totally worth it....such a great day!

Watching the Italian Parade......the kids loved when the people on the floats threw candy at them.....the adults prefered the salami sandwiches that were thrown out by the Columbus Salami float....yum!

Mia waved to every single person in the parade. Even though the streets were completely blocked off, my instinct kept grabbing her out of the street!

Just protecting her ears from the noise.....and man o' man are the Blue Angels LOUD!
Mia LOVED wearing the big head phones, but wasn't bothered by the noise without them either!

Rooftop view.....not too shabby!

Pics just don't do them justice.....

Recent pics.....

Mia, VERY much enjoying her chocolate cupcake at Grady's Bday Party!

We are still working on eliminating/shortening Jake's naps and it is still a struggle to wake him up when he does nap. I have still been finding him sleeping in funny places.....but this was a first!

Yay! Jake is getting old enough to do little art projects.....you all know I love to do that stuff, so it was fun to do it together. He got bored with it pretty fast, but I had fun finishing it up!

What, you don't you play in your underwear and ski hat?
